Mission Statement
The mission statement for Immanuel First Lutheran
Church was
developed in a series of strategic planning meetings and officially
adopted by the congregation on April 4, 2004.
As our church and ministries move forward and
reach
outward, this mission statement will guide us as our best understanding
of God's calling for our congregation.
This page was updated on October 14, 2010.
- The mission of Immanuel First Church is:
Sharing God's Love, Comfort and Hope to All!
- Growing the Body of Christ: We
exist as a congregation to make disciples.
Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you
always, to the very end of the age.
- Outreach to Our Community: We
exist as a congregation to connect those in our community with the Good
News of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:22-23
I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I
might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may
share in its blessings.
- Unity: We exist as a congregation
to work together as we accomplish our best understanding of God's will
for us.
John 17:22-23
I have given them the glory you gave me, that they may be one as we are
one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to
let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you
have loved me.
- Loving One Another: We exist as a
congregation to show and share God's love for all.
John 13:35
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one
another.
- Our community will see our congregation as a beacon
of hope and light, connecting them to Christ as we reach out to all
people with His love and compassion.
- Our guests will be changed by God's love as we
welcome them home, serve their needs, and ask them to become part of
our family now and forever.
- Our members will be unified in growing their faith,
confidently showing God's love with all cultures, and enthusiastically
accomplishing God's will.
