Youth
Group
Check the Lost and Found...
...you might find some youth there. The new youth group
Lost and Found (LaF) was founded by Alexis Coronado,
granddaughter of Head Elder John Coronado, and started on Friday,
September 11, 2009. The group consists of high
school students from freshmen to seniors. They meet every Friday from
4:30 to 6:30pm, and usually take part in plans that involve social
skills and problem solving.
The youth group has become very hopeful and excited
towards the results. They've cleaned out the old 8th grade room
(spiders were galore) and have begun to plan other
events, decorated the cork board, and are filling in the room
slowly. We welcome the congregation of the church to help and join us
in our events and activities or just to check out the room (we are very
proud of it, and have real artistic talent).
Now On Facebook
Visit LaF's Facebook page where they have posted videos of their vocal performances at our Easter Sunrise Service on April 4 and photos of The Prayer Tree, their recent project in which prayers from the congregation were written on tags and hung from a tree outside the Youth Room as a visible symbol of offering our prayers before God and believing He will answer them according to His will.

News
There isn't much to report on for our women's group this
month.
We will meet for our monthly Bible Study on Saturday,
June 19 at 9:30am in the fellowship hall. We look forward to seeing you
there and we would LOVE
to see some new faces too. ALL
WOMEN are invited to join us for this time of fellowship.
Mite Box Sunday—June 20
Mite boxes are the small cardboard boxes we fill with
coins, dollars and checks throughout the month as we remember the many
blessings God has given to us. Mite money is used to further God's
kingdom through mission grants selected by delegates at district and
international conventions: 75% of the mite box monies support district
missions and 25% support international missions. THANK YOU to
all—young and old—who support our missions!

Grandma Kay Says...
by Kay Okubo
June 2010
1 Peter 5:2-12
One of my favorite Bible verses that I am passing on to
you. "Be
shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers
not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to
be, not greedy for money, but eager to serve, not lording it over those
entrusted to you, be being examples to the flock. And when the Chier
Shepherd appears, you will have the crown of glory that will never fade
away. "Young men, in the same way, be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with HUMILITY
toward one another because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the
humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand that he
may life you in due time. CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY TO HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU. "Be
self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a
roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm
in the FAITH because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. "And
the God of all grace who called you to His eternal glory in Christ,
after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and
make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power foreverr and
ever. AMEN!"
"Dad"
And now a quote on fatherhood in honor of Father's Day: "Being a dad is the most important job in a man's life.
It doesn't have to be hard. All it takes is a few minutes of your time.
Because the smallest moment will have the biggest impact in your
child's life. Take time to be a dad, today!"

2010 Altar Flower Calendar
from The
Immanuel Buzz
February
2010
There are still dates available to fill on the Flower
Chart posted
in the narthex. Please think of your family and friends and perhaps
remember one of their special days. It would be much appreciated to see
the whole chart filled so that we would be able to have two flower
arrangements on the altar each Sunday. The cost of each arrangement is
$25. If paying by check make it payable to "LWML" and give to Roberta
Scott of place in her mailbox. After the service is over, take the
flowers with you. Please the straw baskets... they do not go with the
flowers. If you have any questions see Maria Espinoza or call (626)
862-1065 or email cuatro-esp@msn.com.
