For Seasonable Weather

Lord of all the earth, You perfectly created this world and still lovingly preserve all Your creatures. Bless and direct the work of all farmers and sustain them in their labors. Grant seasonable weather in these summer months, both providing ample rainfall and protecting us from excessive heat, so that a bountiful harvest may soon be gathered to Your glory and for the good of all people. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Anniversary of a Marriage

Almighty Lord, You declared at creation that it is not good for man to be alone, so You made man and woman to be joined companions to serve each other in Your perfect love. Forgive us today for our sins and all that threatens to tear apart the bonds You have made between us, that we might be restored to the unity You have intended us to enjoy with Your numerous blessings. Bless all husbands and wives with the love of Christ. Amen.

For Our Nation

Almighty God, You hold the whole world in Your powerful hands. I thank You today for the privilege of living in our nation, for the many blessings that You have provided her, and for the precious freedoms that we enjoy, especially that of worshiping You. Direct and guide our governmental leaders so that they may accomplish Your will, and enable us to use our freedoms wisely and for the well-being of all. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

For a Penitent Heart

Merciful God, Your Word reveals the truth of my sin and the justice of Your judgment upon me. I am overwhelmed and frightened by the guilt of my sin, and I know that I cannot hide from You. Receive my humble confession. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus, and all that He has done for me, forgive me all of my sins. Help me daily, by Your grace, to turn from my sin and to live for You alone. In the forgiving name of Jesus. Amen.
